cunning is the counterfeit of intelligence, and compromise
is the absence of integrity. Tread warily when "Gurus"
come calling with smiles and open arms.)
Nothing succeeds like success. But it sometimes
takes a little ingenuity to achieve it. That's what we're really
talking about here.
"So, John... what is this innovative

And why don't I just call it a "joint
venture" like everyone else in Internet marketing?
Look, call me pedantic or anything else you
like, but the root cause of most human conflict can be traced
back to vague or confusing definitions. I prefer to be precise.
It prevents a lot of aggravation.
The fact is, the term "joint venture"
is a classic example of opportunistic sellers hijacking precise
marketing and business terminology and twisting its meaning
to suit themselves. A true joint venture is very different
to what Internet marketers mean by the term. What they really
mean is actually a strategic marketing alliance.
A joint venture is an independent
business enterprise, properly constituted and maintained,
owned jointly by two or more joint venture partners.
It's not just a deal between one marketer
and a bunch of super-affilliates with huge mailing lists. That's
a strategic alliance between sellers. Perfectly legitimate,
by the way, but misleading and confusing if it's called a joint
